Fall Schedule is Announced!

Now that we are back in action, our fall schedule is about to commence. After a terrific volunteer training last Saturday our programs are getting set to run. Here is the current schedule:

Saturday, October 2nd, Canton Sportsplex - Bitzas Fund Raising tourney. Eight great co-ed teams will compete for the championship. All proceeds to go to OE! Great action, fun raffles, a major prize - Come JOIN! All are welcome.

Oct. 16th - Youth and Adult Hike 9:30-12:30pm
Oct. 27th - School Age Hike 9:30am-12:30pm
Oct. 30th - All Ages Halloween Hike 10am-2pm
Nov. 6th - O'Hearn Elementary School Hike - full
Nov. 20th - Youth and Adult Hike 9am-1pm
Dec. 1st - Children Hike Time TBD
Dec. 8th - Youth Hike Time TBD
Dec. 11th - All Ages Hike 9:30am-12noon

Welcome to our New Board Members-Jeff Cunningham and Chris Bitzas

Outdoor Explorations welcomes our new Board of Directors members, Jeff Cunningham and Chris Bitzas! We are thrilled that Jeff and Chris joined the OE Board. Both of their knowledge, expertise and vision will be an invaluable contribution to help OE reach its mission of providing accessible outdoor adventures for people with disabilities.

Bio: Jeff Cunningham is the Senior Colorist with the Z Corporation. An avid kayaker, cyclist and outdoor enthusiast, Cunningham has volunteered with OE for over 8 years helping with adventure programs and acting as the computer technician.

Bio: Chris Bitzas is a Senior Systems Engineer with Siemens Building Technologies. Chris has volunteered with OE since 2007 by assisting on adventure programs and organizing fundraisers. In his spare time, he is a competitive soccer player, marathon runner and avid outdoor enthusiast.

Sponsor Marine Week WildWorks Community Service Day-May 3, 2010

Marine Week WildWorks Community Service Day brings together veterans and civilians with and without disabilities from service organizations and residential facilities for a one-day project to improve our parks, waterways and communities. On this day, 40 participants of all abilities will work to revitalize neglected outdoor spaces and create a more accessible outdoor environment at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir.

ITEM SPONSORSHIP LEVEL DESCRIPTION

• $100-Hydrate our Volunteers with bottled water
• $500-Provide coffee, bagels, fruit and other breakfast items
• $800-Unify volunteers with and without disabilities by sponsoring t-shirts
• $1,000-Provide box lunches filled with sandwiches, fruit, snacks and beverages
• $3,000-Underwrite OE staff time and transportation cost (Platinum Supporter!)
